How do I meditate on my thoughts? Seems like the goal cant be to enter a no mind state. Is it as simple as making sure you aren't swept away by a day dream—staying present, non-judgemental, and unattached to your thoughts?

Maintaining an anchor, such as the breath or another stabilizing "object" of meditation, in the midst of the waves while watching them come and go is one way to interweave these practices.

Ah that really helps me conceptualize the practice. I'm going to go sit outside and see how I do with no object to ground me.
