I think it's literally 1. Induce unique experience 2. Also somehow induce non-conceptual awareness 3. Correlate 1, and 2 4. Post about 1 as if it causes 2 or is a part of 2 When really it's just about 2.

Ok gonna do my best to communicate my framework for this without implying that the framework is the important bit.

First, you can't induce non-conceptual awareness. Awareness is already non-conceptual. It's about getting a person to _notice_ that awareness is non-conceptual.

Some types of experiences are very useful to prompt this noticing, and some of them require a great deal of skill to reach.

Many traditions get caught up in the process of developing these skills. It forms a barrier to entry, expertise, authority, heirarchy. All of these are very useful for obtaining power in the world. Not everyone who does this is Bad, but it does feel slightly dishonest.

It can become a bit of a game, since some of these experiences are intensely blissful. It can actually create to much focus on the methods and strategy for "getting there".

Some frameworks are more effective than others at prompting a person to notice the nature of awareness. Some manage to be very effective while being detached from reality. I see these as a type of scaffolding that you can hopefully discard after they've served their purpose.

Leave all baggage behind. While the raft must eventually be discarded, for most it would be fatal to do so mid-stream amidst the churning current. Upon reaching dry land, disembark. The sea of suffering is boundless; a turn of the head is the other shore. Smooth sailing.

Then you realize you are the river, and there is no raft.

And no "you" either, as all such concepts dissolve.
