By watching what, I wonder? Most of these quotes are actually traceable, split between the Pāli suttas and Prajñāpāramitā sūtras, but some are a mystery. Will have to run some searches on sakko-devānam-indo/śakro-devānām-indro this weekend to see what can be unearthed on this.https://twitter.com/_BuddhaQuotes/status/1228525075974033408 …

Looks like "watching" is appamādena... "appamādena maghavā, devānaṃ seṭṭhataṃ gato. appamādaṃ pasaṃsanti, pamādo garahito sadā." ...where "maghavā" is an epithet of Sakka/Inda (Śakra/Indra). Dhammapada - Ch.2, v.30(10)

Appamādena is otherwise rendered vigilance, even wakefulness. Diligence and heedfulness are other translations I've seen. Reminded of the Buddha's final words: "Conditions fall apart. Persist with diligence (vayadhammā saṅkhārā appamādena sampādethā)." Mahāparinibbāna Sutta

Ajahn Maha Bua is a skilled storyteller, from the little I've seen. The monastery where I previously studied covered his biography of Ajahn Mun in depth during our unit on hermeneutics, but otherwise, I remain unfamiliar with his work. Is there anything you would recommend?

The Dhamma Teaching of Acharn Maha Bua in London is great. Did you ever run across a disciple of Acharn Mun named Luang Por Wiriyang, who had a temple near Bangkok and painted gigantic murals symbolizing the steps towards nibbana?

Thanks! I unfortunately did not encounter Luang Por Wiriyang. Curious about these temple murals.
