Sometimes people email me with a question or request & say "If it's easier to talk, I'm willing to meet with you." This "willing to" expression…irritates me. Thank you for your willingness to help me do you a favor? Maybe I'm thinking of this too much like a conversation in JPN.

Perhaps "I'm willing to" is a more formal way of saying "I can," (or at least let's hope it's that and not condescension!).
