This is within my frame of reference, maybe. Spoke about maintaining several simultaneous threads of attention of seeing thought as it springs forth from the vault into image then word. Don't know what to do with this parlor trick?

Asking where can I find a description of the various observable manifestations of mind. It is a bit frustrating, nevertheless I am reminded of the saying "Questions wake a person and answers put them to sleep" LOL never been short of questions so am safe for the moment.

Not to assert some transcendent state that is not my own but to point at the awakening influence of good questions.

Experience seems the most promising source for a description of the various observable manifestations of mind. While a parlor trick may appear deceitful and/or fruitless from one angle, it can function as a motivating force propelling forward progress on the path from another.

E.g., apparitional city in the Lotus Sūtra - a parlor trick functioning as "skillful means" (an expedient) for the sake of forward progress. Breath is a skillful means. Doors are skillful means. The real "trick" is breaking the spell so as not to stagnate in the illusion.

Never the task itself. The path of least resistance is ever sweet in its allure. Gurdjieff suggested that we take as our yoke the twined practices of "conscious labors and intentional sufferings". Clipped a brief def.pic.twitter.com/Wvc6wWDrqg
