No resurrection just a synthesis a purification and joining together of that which is essential and that which has been acquired. Dying to be reborn is just all too dramatic at this stage of the process.

It's a bit lyrical on my part, but I'm reminded of how in Zen, Buddha-nature is always already there, and we are just to stop defiling it with our mind's contrivances. That clinging mind "dies," and our original nature "arises."
