It's the capacity for self-correction that I think is unique. The fact that it tells not to be dogmatic about its own results.

Well, I'd say it's humans that are the problem here -- arrogant scientists and people who would exploit and distort science for political ends. The enterprise itself is a noble one -- it's just inquiry in its practical guise.

To put a finer point on that, I’d say that careful tracking if experience would deflate the so-called “hard problem” in a way that no philosophical or scientific data ever could. The problem is *the people* who get caught up in defending philosophical claims...

Funny, I could hear Bhikkhu Bodhi’s voice in that without knowing it was excerpted from him. Might be the result of taking his Abhidhamma course in person a few years back. He drew a lot of parallels between Abhidhamma and ice cream.
