For example, Sellars project is as close as you can get to Dharmakīrti’s project, right up until you hit yogic perception!

Truly, Dan’s Sellars basically just is McDowell.

Here’s the puzzle: why are philosophers working on 6th century Buddhists happy to engage with contemporary philosophers of mind and cognitive science, and why is there so little work going in the opposite direction?

Been puzzling over this question too. In my experience, a few cog sci folks are willing to engage but only up to a point, at which some turn actively hostile. Wondering if it's due to pride in data-driven objectivity and a sense that this is threatened by "woo," as it's called.

People who work on the oldies don't always get the contemporary stuff right (it doesn't really matter!). My guess is that those of us who are interested in the oldies, but were trained in contemporary stuff are going to make similar kinds of mistakes (I hope it doesn't matter)
