This is such an incredibly commonly overlooked point. "San Francisco spends $100M on homelessness and we have just as many homeless people as we did 10 years ago" --- Um, yeah. Housing prices increased 120% in those 10 years, how many new homeless do you think that created?

... And what amount of that $100M do you think goes to keeping people housed who are on the brink of being homeless? Think that proportion is increasing as housing prices keep running away? Ugh. Frustrating.
