It took economists a century to stop talking about "big ideas", which are usually a bunch of simplistic fantasies, and to move forward to discuss the details and develop a more complex view of the world. I hope we are not going back in time.

Not really, Right lacks the ability to see the nuance. To them “socialism has collectivized agriculture, ergo socialism bad. Capitalism has iphone, ergo fuck yeah capitalism.”

Socialism has the lack of being able to claim ownership of your own creations and ideas, ergo, horrific Orwellian oligarchy. Capitalism reaped the inventions and innovations we now live by, where you can speak as you wish without fear of secret police, ergo freedom.

And I don’t get to own my labor or adequately (since by definition I have to produce more than I receive, otherwise the company loses money). Youre just basically saying you agree with the drunk uncle version of socialism that CEA discusses. Not the one ppl actually think of

Why not compare US to Netherlands with universal healthcare. Why are educated people hung up on Gov run options. Laziness? Yes Gov can provide universal coverage but will be less efficient than competitive market.
