White people can be so frustrating. It's not an individual fault, but a consistent ideological posture. White people deny that their whiteness has any personal significance to them. Yet they protect whiteness at all costs. They protect what they don't even believe exists.

They think they are stressing individualism over "problematic" group identities esp race. But they both cannot, and refuse, to see that their conception of individualism is very narrow, and consistent across white America, and is not something a lot of non-white people buy into.

It's extremely frustrating because they always escape into a race-blind, colorblind, individual-first posture, and accuse others of being "limited" by their own racial identities and group politics. It's worse than disingenuity - it's their honest feeling.
