Mexico's also a much bigger country. You can flee violence in Mexico without leaving Mexico itself. Here's a piece from 2015 on the internally displaced in Mexico. According to UN statistics, El Salvador ‘s per capita homicide rate in 2015 was almost 7 times Mexico’s and was the highest in the world (with Iraq and Honduras in second and third place). Local violence is clearly an important motivating force behind current migration from CA.

I can promise you these poor people in there caravans are NOT carrying DRUGS
They dont even have Fucking FOOD. MOST Drugs come into US from ASIA
and any that come from Mexico come thru legal border crossings in TRUCKS .

Not in the RGV in TX. The population keeps growing here bc Mexicans have been moving here.The ones that leave go to the Dallas area or other large cities. I visited Mesquite and I felt like I was in the RGV.
