It was a great article, but he got pushback from public housing advocates who, in their view, thought he was denigrating their efforts. Hurt feelings aside, Matt is right: YIMBYs need to focus on upwardly mobile millennials if they are going to succeed in reforming zoning.

I'd they didn't build those new condos it would still be more competition for the smaller amount of units available.

You're right, building a few condos won't change much. Building a lot is necessary to lower overall rents in a city.
