In fact, Gordon Hanson, Chen Liu, and Craig McIntosh have a whole paper about the collapse of low-skilled immigration in recent years: https://gps.ucsd.edu/_files/faculty/hanson/hanson_publication_immigration_risefall.pdf …

Good chart! Trying to find the source report. Doesn't seem to be the Sept 2018 Pew report. Have a link handy? ty!

Wouldn’t mind reading Mr. Smith’s view of Reihan Salah’s book on immigration. Could beat thoughtful discussion btw the two.

People are not reading current data on immigration to form their opinions. It's very possible current politics is a reaction to high levels of low skilled immigration in the past.

Something I wondered about in the context of
#brexit, could it be that resentment of highly skilled migrants is the trigger for the extreme right. (Migrants are fine if they are a marginalised precarious class. But when they are doing better than you then that is threatening.)Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

How incredibly dull of people to ask you to supply charts that show that immigrants have to prove their worth when plenty of US citizens are just lazy POS

Sad that the next black bar is going to look shorter when we add a fourth set to that graph in a couple of years.
