Not exactly comparable but the General Social Survey asks questions about what makes someone a true American every few years and the Am Natl Elec Study @electionstudies now asks about American and racial identity and perceptions of discrimination
In the GSS, support for cultural views of Am id increases a bit btwn 1996 & 2004 then decreased again, which some say was due to 9/11. Not sure if there’s been another bump post-Trump. I think @vavreck has written on that.
