I'm kinda confused by the original post. Being a follower of yours on the left, it seems weird to push a divide between neolibs and lefties on housing when being YIMBYs seems to be one thing many of us agree on, irl at least in my experience. Maybe Twitter is different?

Unfortunately yes. Google "DSA San Francisco YIMBY"...
-
I guess being in the South so weird to see these kinds of fights. Very different environment there in San Francisco. I hope things improve. For what it's worth, I want more housing in my backyard all the time. Lots of new housing going up down the street from me, happy to say

As a southerner living in SF, I can testify that our dynamic here in the City is not how YIMBYism is perceived nationwide. It’s a progressive ideology, but in this sea of blue we meet some added resistance.
-
Yeah, I can see that now. Such a different dynamic that it is hard to wrap my mind around from here in Georgia. Best of luck to y'all, though!
-
Thanks! Are you involved with any YIMBY organizing in ATL?
-
Besides just donations and adding my name to stuff not yet due to work and job issues but now that it's leveled out and I have more stability I will be looking to get involved, actually.

-
That’s awesome! There was a small YIMBY group in ATL (
@atlYIMBY), but they’ve gone a little quiet recently. But, I know there’s lots of exciting urbanism going on and would love to hear more once you have a chance to get plugged in.

They are aware of what YIMBY stands for, correct?

Like the cockroach person says in Men in Black, "Your offer is acceptable."
