Certainly more supply is needed, it will just have to be *a lot* more supply as long as the level of bank financing of real estate is so high.

Definitely boo. YIMBYism’s success turns on its independence from partisan divisions in nat’l govt. If YIMBYism becomes associated with Trump’s admin, it will be dead at the state-local level — which are the only levels that matter in land use.

The argument is that Obama’s embrace of common core made it radioactive for Republicans who previously liked it. And thus Carson’s embrace of
#yimby would do the same for Democrats. I’m not sure it holds here, but that’s the argument. -
Another is that opinions are sufficiently intense on land use locally that the national level framing won't matter. But whether it matters on the margin in terms of local framing, I don't know....
