The land reform redistributed productive assets that were relatively hard to alienate to people who knew how to operate them effectively. I'm struggling to think of a modern day equivalent.

I'm not sure how "redistributing housing," whatever that means operationally, is supposed to be equivalent to redistributing farmland. A farm isn't just a house, it comes with a job attached.
