Note: I am not denying that shaming Tucker Carlson is *intrinsically* good.

I find this behavior abhorrent. You're really nullifying the other sides' viewpoints. Whatever you think of Tucker Carlson, and I've disliked the guy for 15 years, he represents a lot of people in America. We need some dialogue, not just shut people down.
-
But he has a popular TV talk show and a Twitter account with 2.24 million followers. He hasn't been shut down.
-
I get that. Of course, he hasn't *literally* been shut down. I've been at this for 20 years and I think that we're going about creating a governing majority the wrong way. Running political commentators and politicians you disagree with out of restaurants is a new phenomenon.
-
What have you been at for 20 years?
-
Political activism on behalf of the Democratic Party.
-
What political activism do you do?
-
Nothing too terribly important. I'm certainly not important. Just grassroots stuff.
-
Like what, for example?

Try sometime: watch Fox for an hour. Then switch on MSNBC for an hour. It's like you're listening to announcers call the Astros/Red Sox game while watching the Dodgers/Brewers game. They aren't even on the same planet as far as their narratives are concerned.
-
So you're saying we should have the government restrict the number of cable channels, in order to force the MSNBC and Fox anchors to talk to each other?
-
Didn't you ever watch Crossfire?
-
I most certainly did watch Crossfire. I'm not saying that the government should intervene to somehow lessen the difference between the two narratives. I'm trying to be terse about something for which I have an opinion that would take some time to spell out.

I think we need to pay attention to Apocryphal Zhou Enlai on this one. If Screaming 'F— you!' at Tucker Carlson in restaurants hasn't produced results by 2250 or so, we can revisit the question.

While I'm not one to do or defend this sort of thing, I think you misunderstand the motivation. I don't think these people are doing this to change Carlson's behavior, but rather to make it clear that his behavior is unacceptable and shouldn't be/have been normalized. They are
-
more likely targeting those companies who advertise on Carlson's show than to actually be targeting Carlson.
