Yep. Elite schools need to INCREASE CLASS SIZE.https://twitter.com/JohnArnoldFndtn/status/1051853777391808512 …

Perhaps the bigger issue with Harvard admissions: In 1977, freshman class was 1,585 with endowment of $2 billion. In 2017, freshman class was 1,659 with endowment of $37 billion. In 40 years, class size grew just 5% while endowment grew 1750%.

This is certainly true, but even if they double the class size, so long as Asian American students face significantly higher bar than white students with other things being equal, the controversy will continue.

California Universities are managing to maintain reasonable level of student body diversity without explicitly considering race as a factor, I think that’s where things are heading eventually.

Do you have the info on total applicants meeting average acceptance test scores v accepted applicants meeting or exceeding average acceptance scores broken down by race?

Harvard in particular is also doing America's best students no favors in another sense: it tends to not admit them in the first place.https://newrepublic.com/article/119321/harvard-ivy-league-should-judge-students-standardized-tests …

harvard is one of the few private colleges that provides financial aid to all admitted students who need it. should colleges increase size, or should they first admit students without regard to financial need and provide adequate aid to all? and then increase class size.

That is a very deceptive y-axis without a zero-point. We are looking at fluctuations of less than 5% here.

The endowments at these elite schools are ridiculous. Stanford's is $25B.
