Can the world avoid climate disaster by just doing one thing? No. Can the world avoid climate disaster by doing many different things? Yes.

I'd change that last answer to "No, but it can mitigate it".

I don't want to get into a definition argument of what "avoid" or "mitigate" actually mean in practice, but there is a lot we can do to avoid outright catastrophe. However, that requires widespread change on the global front and soon.

Abolishing capitalism would be a bad move for the climate, for our people, and for the world, however much it might satisfy a bunch of Twitter jerks.

Except CO2 in the environment is cumulative. Throughout the industrial revolution China wasn’t spewing the junk that the US and Europe spewed into the environment.
