I'm more to Peter F. Hamiltons vision of humans simply "uploading" whatever knowledge they need: going skiing? upload "Shaun White Trickery 3". Education will universal, which will be interesting at the least...
My kid is naturally attractive so he is already set, no creepy engineering required.
Interesting to consider what skills will be valuable in a post-AI world. Interpersonal skills? Physical beauty? Hard to say.
Noah, it is cruel and unethical to inflict the desire to post upon your kids. Don't let them post, and don't make them want to start posting.
That 19% is gonna be 99.9% in a hurry!
Are you not worried that perhaps those generations with genetically modified intellectual capabilities, paired with a well-integrated AI interface, might become (extremely) right-wing?
Writing viral tweets will also be a useless trait, unless the tweets either modified peoples' ability to be productive or lead to better some understanding
Creatives should always have a job.
Heh, quoting my daughter (14y) after revealing she and her sister had spent 3000 hours playing Sims 4 and her mother going on about playing an instrument instead: "Whatever mom! Imagine if we'd spent it doing YouTube posts!". Im not worried about that one
That, sir, is troubling. Rise of AI scares the snot out of me.
Super-intelligence will not be useless, it will be ubiquitous and it will be grafted onto humans, not programmed into our DNA
I would bet significant money against this hypothesis. If anything, I think AI will widen the gap between the super intelligent and the rest of society.
Now this is bullshit. AI ain’t even a hundred years from being that useful on that scale. And I don’t think not working is a good thing for humans in general, probably turn into a form of cabin fever
Gonna engineer them to be wildly charismatic and funny.
