I could (and did) write a masters thesis on the confused and misleading assumptions smuggled into this question.

Why? You're using that room for its proper and intended purpose - bullshitting about philosophical concepts too vague to ever be resolved! You are winning at life!! :-)

I hate accidentally being the first person to vote in such a poll; my random answer reveals only that I’m the first person to respond. None the wiser.

As the second person to vote in the poll, my random answer only reveals that I am contrarian to the first person to vote and therefore my answer is also statistically meaningless.

copout answer: it depends on what you mean by "moral", "facts", and "exist". there are definitely ethical theories that cause moral statements to have unambiguous truth values, though their epistemic status (if any) is not obvious

thank you, thank you, i'll be here all night i'm unironically a utilitarian, but my meta-ethical view is well captured by this article:https://www.lesswrong.com/posts/3zDX3f3QTepNeZHGc/pluralistic-moral-reductionism …

No, because it is a proposition about "what is", not "what ought to be".

Constant news cycles of little children being stolen from their parents because they don't have the right paperwork or the right skin color has only hardened my conviction that moral facts exist

I surely reject any theoretical framework that ascribes equal weight to the opinions of the architects of a racist child detention regime (who surely go about their work believing themselves to be moral actors) to those who oppose that regime

Discussing things like punitive child detention - putting two year olds in prison camps to dissuade others from coming to our country - as somehow morally relative and not simply a searing moral offense, I think that's not bravery, that's blindness
