7/Devin says that there has been "progress on trade relations with Canada and Mexico". In fact, Trump tore up NAFTA and replaced it with something very similar to NAFTA. Other than Canada slightly opening its dairy market, not clear how this is a "win".

He's done a great job dismantling the EPA and Interior, making it easier for companies to pollute and exploit our natural resources. And he's abdicated any responsibility for the U.S. to help save civilization from increasingly apparent cataclysmic disruption.

He might yet ruin one if the few foreign policy bright spots the US has had in the past 15 years, India-US relations. If he follows through with his veiled threat. Let's see.
-
This is an issue that cannot be overstated, the possibility that the world's largest democracy, India, may very well turn into a Russian quasi-ally/partner, or at the least a major (weapons) trade partner, is terrible. It would be a blow felt for decades.
-
Yes,it risks losing the gains of the past two decades.. India has long been a major defense partner of Russia. But since W's presidency, US-India relations have improved a lot and it now has bipartisan support in both countries. Trump risks setting the clock back to the 90s.

Perhaps core (political, economic, etc.) systems are generally robust/stable, but when they break the fallout can be *really* bad & hard to undo, so we try to persuade ourselves that such systems are more brittle than they actually are to avoid inadvertently breaking them.
-
This is good insofar as it reduces the odds of us breaking our core systems, but bad if we forget that we still need to act as though they are brittle. Otherwise, we might over-react to their failure to collapse when tested and proceed as though they are very strong.
-
For example: “There’s no open war on the Korean Peninsula even though foreign policy geeks were up in arms about Trump’s handling of North Korea, so they must be deluded and overly self-important — we don’t need to listen to them” is dangerous.

Usually Chinese companies put out products that are poor quality (mostly) imitations of American ones but in the case of Trump, he is basically a poor (so far, & thank goodness!) imitation of Mao Zedong.

Not if, it is specifically when, in terms of an economic reckoning on the horizon. Either he has to deal with it in term 2, or the poor person who wins will have to do it, and will surely be blamed for it by Rs, if they are a D.
