Not sure this rivalry counts as a Cold War. The real Cold War had a lot of missiles deployed and proxy wars all over.

Except in the real Cold War, American businesses did virtually no business behind the Iron Curtain. Today, there are very, very large American companies that do a huge volume of business in China.

There are countries we're friendly with because of political leadership that I've long thought someone could decide tomorrow to get everyone very mad at them, very easily: China and Saudi Arabia. China has done more than enough to whip people up about them.
