That's kind of exaggerated, in part because meth has been popular among people already inclined toward violence. There are suburban women and rich gay dudes who do meth too, and their addiction looks a bit different.

I mean, yeah, meth doesn't automatically turn you into a killer robot, but it does tend to push you in that direction...I know people who did heroin and were fine, but they're not the norm.
-
Mind you, I'm not endorsing meth. But the fact that it's popular with, say, working class white dudes who already have criminal histories is relevant. I know a handful of people who are in recovery from meth who were pretty normal before and are pretty normal now.
-
Maybe my perception is skewed because of the times I've been attacked or nearly attacked by meth-heads out here in California...
-
which means that you have zero information about what they were like BEFORE they ever did meth.
-
I had a friend who was gay and addicted to meth. He may not have been violent, but it was absolutely terrifying to see him. He seemed strangely undead at the time. Heroin users are just slugs, not zombies.

Did you ever do heroin recreationally?
-
NO! Or non-recreationally! I may be dumb but I ain't stupid.

Anecdotally I've met way more recovering tweakers who stay sober than recovering heroin addicts.
-
Yeah, heroin is the most addictive. I suspect because of the anhedonia.

With no teeth. It's a horrible drug. They're all horrible.
-
I think psychedelics are good, occasionally or in very small doses.
-
By no means am I “pro meth” but certain health effects are greatly exaggerated to the point of urban legend. The teeth rot thing is a myth. Meth, to my knowledge, is closer to a hop than a jump or a skip away from adderall.https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.vice.com/amp/en_us/article/7bdabb/a-neuroscientist-explains-how-he-found-out-meth-is-almost-identical-to-adderall …
-
Well, I'm said that based on what I've seen. Yeah, meth is no Adderall via usage, it may be pharminetically similar, hell I've even seen damage to teeth from Adderall so defend & attempt to otherize them all you want. I stand by my tweet and raise they're all horrible drugs.
-
Really wasn’t trying to be confrontational. Just saying I don’t think the literature supports the idea that it’s the meth—as opposed to correlated lifestyle choices—that cause tooth decay. There’s just nothing in it or adderall that would cause teeth to rot. It’s still bad tho!
