I mean interesting problems which won't be worked out in the next 10 years otherwise as they simultaneously require a combination of skills and solving a coordination problem.
Something like this must happen for theoretical neuroscience. There are similar initiatives, i.e. https://www.simonsfoundation.org/2016/11/24/neuroscience-in-a-global-era-what-are-the-best-ways-to-collaborate/ …. But whether it can work is another question. We’re in the middle of an ontological crisis; not a lot of consensus and poor philosophical foundations.
