I was a worried after Cuomo was lionized by media and public he'd be able to fly under the radar. Kudos to the WSJ for committing a pretty darn thorough investigation. Apparently many deaths could have been avoided by solving some simple coordination problems. Hindsight is sad.

The answer is European travel to New York bringing coronavirus long before anyone knew about it.

The federal government was aware of the pandemic as early as November. Plenty of opportunity to suspend international flights as well as domestic to slow the spread.
