‘London streets are safe for women,’ say Met police after Sabina Nessa killing. No, they aren't. This is ignorant and insulting. It's outrageous. If we won't acknowledge the problem how will we tackle it? 77 women killed by men since Sarah Everard

Tn years after the Milly Dowler story broke and nine years after a major public inquiry found widespread abuse and malpractice among many UK newspapers. The press, aided by timid government, wriggled off the hook by promising a new self regulator. Look how effective it’s been.

You even appear to have added details to make it sound titillating! About the sexual abuse of a child?! Can you explain why please?

Hi we wondered if you could explain the irresponsible use of tone & language in this Mercury article?! This relates to the grooming & repeated rape of a 13 yr old child by an adult man. The language here normalises sexualisation and sexual abuse of children!

The police abuse the powers they already have - and yet the government plans to give them even more powers in the Police, Crime, Sentencing and Courts Bill. This is dangerous. This will lead to even more state violence against women. This bill MUST be stopped.

Tonight we attempted to have a peaceful vigil to mourn Sarah Everard and protest all forms of gendered violence. The police were violent towards us and prevented us from mourning. So tomorrow, we will gather at New Scotland Yard, 4pm. Join us.

And I think channel four needed to do more than put a little black bar over the pictures, or blur it out. The pictures need to be fully blacked out from shoulders down

I think I'm going to cry watching the Page Three doc because the girls are 16 in the pictures and that so young and their images are popular because they "have the face of a child but the body of a woman" (to quote the photographer)

The Sun deleting yesterday’s negative article about Caroline Flack and today posting about her while promoting their “You are not alone” awareness campaign makes me sick. The media drag people until they’re suicidal and wash their hands of it when it happens. It’s devastating.

The press hounded Princess Diana. After her death, we said it would never happen again. Then others. They splashed Amy Winehouse’s suffering across front pages. Meghan has been so attacked she had to leave. Our society hunts women down for kicks and can’t seem to stop.
