One thing that polls well? Bipartisanship. By breaking and changing the rules of the House after this election, bipartisanship might actually have a fighting chance.

What benefit does bipartisanship, in this climate, bring? Policy that's sabotaged from the beginning. Why offer bipartisanship to people who won't return the favour? Why not just implement meaningful, transformative policy, not ineffectual, unprincipled half-assed garbage like ACA?

I have always felt that after the election the winners on both sides need to forget the party line and reach across the isle and work for the good of our Country and for the good of their constituents. This is the only way to make a better America

Bipartisanship just deregulated banks (thanks Doug Jones!). Bipartisanship eased rules on payday lenders. Bipartisanship will probably start a war soon. Fuck bipartisanship with the modern GOP.

"bipartisanship" isn't really a political goal, though, is it? You can't say something is good just because it's bipartisan, like "compromise for the sake of compromise" is...bad.

I disagree.. It starts with small things.. Then move to big things. The job of congress is to solve problems not do only things that benefit my team.

no, this is basically wrong. Look, I like bipartisanship fine, but I also have specific policy goals -- expanding healthcare access, for instance. While bipartisanship is good, I'd take single-party created healthcare access over bipartisan-created LACK of healthcare any day

While I like the goal.. I would rather have a partial accomplishment that we get now that can be built on. Vs waiting for the happy point where we get a vast majority to agree. Hell getting to the happy point may only happen with small bipartisan points along the way.

respectfully, people die while waiting for incremental change to work. also, incremental models have led us to a 2 party system where one party is centre-right and the other has descended fully into fascism. time for some fresh air, i'd argue.

I agree.. Lets get rid of the parties and elect legislators to do their job. Waiting for utopia will mean you get nothing and then you die.
