E-cigarette use among young people is becoming the next public health emergency. The @US_FDA is not doing enough to protect our communities, especially our children, from these dangerous products. That needs to change. https://lowey.house.gov/media-center/press-releases/lowey-hosts-roundtable-discussion-teenage-vaping-tobacco-use …pic.twitter.com/WVxibIysjL

The numbers prove it is all too easy for children to get their hands on e-cigarettes and vaping chemicals, including in vape shops and online. We know these devices are addictive gateways to tobacco products. Tell the truth Nita. You're bent out of shape about all the cigarette tax you're losing out on. It's pretty clear you'd rather see kids smoking cigarettes and giving you that mad tax money, even if cigarettes will kill them.

The statistics actually prove you are lying. You are trading millions of lives in order to justify your position by attempting to further a completely false narrative. Shame on you. Don't you realize that intelligent, voting adults see the numbers for themselves and see your lie?

You claim (falsely) that youth vaping has been increasing for years, while at the same time youth smoking has been declining to the lowest levels ever recorded. Think about that. Doesn't take a genius to do the math on that.

You couldn't be more wrong about how kids get e-cigs and vaping products. They get them through the black market that you helped create. Of age teens sell them to underage ones at schools. Stop lying and protecting your tobacco company campaign money. #VapingSavesLives

It’s like they haven’t seen teens get age-restricted products before. NO ONE (legit companies) wants or will sell to these underagers but their 18,19,21+ friends and family are the problem.

Exactly right, which means lack of enforcement on private black market sales to minors is the problem and is needed desperately.

Vaping is NOT a gateway to smoking. It is a gateway OUT OF smoking. This is way the National Youth Tobacco Survey shows that only .3% (POINT 3%) of regular youth vapers (more than 20 times/month) are never smokers.

Data from the annual "Monitoring the Future" survey that is released every year by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). In this case the numbers are from the 2014, 2015, and 2016 MTF reports.
