    AMIA bombing suspect acquitted even though "the evidence collected is more than enough to achieve the degree of certainty & convict the accused" in the bombing which killed 85 and injured 100's more. This does not reflect well on Argentine justice system.

    Almost 26 yrs after Iran-backed bombed 's AMIA Jewish community center, a judge extended the country’s designation of Hezbollah as a terrorist entity for 1 more year. 22 others also had their assets frozen for another year.

    Alberto Nisman would be thanking , dedicated civil servants at and for today’s designations including for Ali Fallahian.Justice is being served. Nisman was murdered on Jan 18, 2015 for investigating a coverup of Iran’s role in the AMIA bombing.

    Today, the US sanctioned Ali Fallahian, who was head of Iran’s intelligence service from 1989 to 1997. Among other malign actions, he bears responsibility for the 1994 bombing of the AMIA Jewish community center in Buenos Aires that killed 85 people.

    28 yrs ago today, -backed operatives killed 25 Argentines & 4 Israelis in a suicide bombing of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires. We remember its victims. Today, Hezbollah continues its terrorism but seeks to cloak itself in new legitimate clothing.

    My take in this story: “The new gov’t is seeking to reverse each and every positive step that has been taken to bring a measure of justice to the victims of the AMIA bombing and their families. It would be a travesty of justice for Argentina if these efforts were to succeed.”
