Given he's trying to help people to cope with their lives I don't think I can put off reading his book much longer. The way SA describes this as an attempt to fill the gap; that's what a particular genre of coping is about

He had a point he hammered on in the Rogan show that the Left vs Right political discussion is a necessary social mechanism for managing the hierarchy while addressing changing world / newly dispossessed groups. Doesn't seem like a hardliner, but fears/hates "collectivism"

One of the things I really like about him is that he's harping on about things a lot of people think are too passe to talk about, like meaning.
