They said the same thing many times. The OLED model was announced regardless. Unless you don’t consider that a “new model”.https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2021/02/nintendo_wont_be_announcing_a_new_switch_model_any_time_soon …

so we can finally say that the switch pro isn't real? awesome

Nintendo said the same thing with the 3DS, 2 weeks later the 3DS XL was announced lol. Literally can’t trust Nintendo when it comes to this, as they are always planning their next release

People say Switch hardware is becoming obsolete. I'm not a developer so I don't know, but you could at least have plans to fix the drift once and for all. If you can't control what's happening on screen, it doesn't really matter you have the best games.

Just put a paper under the stick xD that solves the problem. It's a matter of tear in the metal case that protects the stick.

That's fine and all Nintendo we got it. Look all we asking for is Joy-con Drift to be addressed and taken care of. Yes free repairs was nice but We need a permanent fix. I'll buy a OLED Model with better functional Joycons today

Honestly insane to me that some people think Nintendo would release the Switch Pro next year. They'd be making the same mistake as Sega by releasing the Switch Pro only a year after the Switch OLED.
-
It would be especially bad bcs they're most likely going to release a Switch successor in 2023. A new console every year would be too much.
