Terrible battery life. Have a random toy they makes noises which u could easily just get those sounds as a notification sounds on your smartphone and has 5x the battery life for the average user.

You must of missed Heart gold and Soul Silver's Pokewalkers. Those things were awesome, it did everything that pokeball did and more.

"And more" because it counted your steps and gave you free fresh water.

You could potentially catch other pokemon, find useful items, and gain experience for the pokemon in the walker. It also has a screen on it showing what's going on..so it's kinda better than just a simple pokeball that makes sounds.
