On April 19, 1783, Crimea became part of Russia under Empress Catherine the Great as a result of victories in Russo-Turkish wars. Even when it briefly belonged to the new post-Soviet state of Ukraine (1991-2014), its residents repeatedly voted in favor of reuniting with Russia.✨pic.twitter.com/TVXynYNl9H

I beg to differ, I've read (like her) otherwise and Nina is very decent, attentive and resourceful.

They voted to “””return””” to Russia - with a little military “””support”””, of course.

The "Crimean Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic" was refounded by its people at jan. 20. 1991 as part of the USSR 22 days later, at the feb. 12. 1991 the "Ukrainian SSR" (witch not even had declared its indepedency!) in fact annexed the "CASSR" by declaring it a part of its own

America was born on 03 Sep 1783- the day the War of Independence ended! Surprise, surprise then- #Crimea was Russian even before the term American has been around..

What matters most to me is what Crimeans want—they clearly support being part of Russia by a huge majority.

"Voted" lol. RuSSian imperialists really are completely out of their minds. Even Putler's own "Human Rights Council" revealed the fraudulent nature of your "referendum."https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/volokh-conspiracy/wp/2014/05/06/russian-government-agency-reveals-fraudulent-nature-of-the-crimean-referendum-results/?utm_term=.bea0c040d9cd …

The reality is that Crimea is Ukraine and will stay that way. All maps, documents, and academics agree. Suck on it, Putler troll. http://www.un.org/en/ga/search/view_doc.asp?symbol=A/RES/71/205 …pic.twitter.com/cwaLHEj4CC
