We could have dropped atomic bombs on unpopulated rural areas of Japan and still made our point to both the Japanese and the Soviets. Easy.
This has what to do with fire- or nuclear-bombing civilians?
True. Bomb was dropped to send a message to USSR.
US knows no other way of sending messages apprently..always a #genocide is involved.
And the epicenter of the blast of that dropped on Nagasaki was Urakami district, heavy populated and the heart of Catholicism in Japan, which destroyed the Immaculate Conception Cathedral.
We should also not not forget that crippling sanctions were the reason why Japan was forced to attack the US in the first place.
Actually, no. Japanese surrendered after Soviet invasion of Manchuria.
That is easy to say now and manipulate history many years later and try to re-write history, I have other books here with other story.
Revisionist history, it was necessary to drop the bombs. US solders lives were more important that Japanese civilians.
True. Good luck getting Japanese women & children to seize Palestine.
Disagree. Japanese troops fought to the death in every battle. Hellish battle of Okinawa just finished when a-bombs dropped.
