Libyan oil corp was nationalized. Is it possible to nationalize foreign companies? Like this article claims?

There are historic precedents to nationalizations or changing rules. Think of the US invasion of Mexico.

The most obvious examples of massive nationalizations, including some foreign interests, are Russian and Cuban revolutions.
-
but those revolutions were to a system that did not allow private enterprising. Understandable. In Libyan case...
-
there was no revolution. Libya had and still has lots of investments in my country Kenya for example.
-
I know. However, a threat to the status quo--even just changing the rules, not a revolution--is a threat to foreign interests.
-
but you can change that like Putin admin did. I don't remember his admin seizing ExxonMobil or Shell or Total.
