Everything always comes back. Time will come and Russia will again be the greatest power. Russia, like a phoenix bird, always revives. Russia is the most beautiful country. And people in it live wonderful.
-
But one thing is sure. Russia is very powerful country and it will surely replace USA and will take its position. We all hate USA because of its policies of dominance and interference in the works of every nations
-
It will not replace US because that is not Russian goal. Russian goal is international community without unicentric power.
-
the goal of Russia is a peaceful sky over the head of every person. The goal of Russia is the equality of races, religions and people. This is a historical mission. So it was always.
-
I think Russia learn from Soviet times that 2 block system is same as now 1 block (happening now). What Russia is doing now is very similar to Non-Aligned Movement in the times of cold war.
-
not Russia started it. Russia has to respond to threats. You know that in the Baltic the NATO base is being built just 37.28 miles from the Russian border. What do you think would be America's reaction to if this was happening on the part of Russia?
-
Well it started in 2003 when Russia was against Iraq intervention. US (in there illusion that they won cold war) become scared they could be challenged as a "Masters of the world". So attack on Russia begin. 1. Retreat from AntiB treaty, 2. anti Putin propaganda, 3. South O. >>

Wish the translation was clearer. I'm not sure what he's saying
-
Yes, an incomprehensible translation . He says that he lived well in the USSR ,he received a very good salary , but now life is hard for him . But he doesn't regret what he did . He believes that money is not the main thing in life .

History is a long Story. I play word games a lot. His Story is a long one. If we play with the letters of the languages we speak, we can see things unseen in the print, or hidden in the vocal, There is a layer of things, I had to see patterns to build with blocks, Story in Photo

Yeltsin biggest Russian tragedy
-
If he didn't do it, someone else would have. So it's not that simple. Russia wanted to break away.
-
I am talking about the theft and pillage by oligarchs under his watch At least Putin put an end to that

If you haven't, check out Yeltsin's political biography by Roy Medvedev. An erudite, calm and highly objective scholar, even Medvedev seems dumbfounded by Yeltsin's triumph of gaining (and maintaining) such a huge political power, and turning into a decade-long agony for Russia.
-
It was decade of transition. No way around it. Gorby and Yeltsin both blew it by not making the CIS a serious unit
-
1/ Agreed that Gorby's naivety (& petrified incompetence of the ancient apparatus in the 1980s) played a part, but it was Yeltsin who accumulated all the power and showed a bizarre disdain toward the idea of maintaining either the vast economic resources or a political leverage.
-
2/ What could easily have been an endurable & swift transition to a more functional economic model, ended up, as Professor Stephen Cohen put it, as "an unprecedented demodernization of a 20th century country". No wonder the 1990s are remembered as the infernal years of Russia.
