Let’s examine the propaganda in this “disinformation-busting” tweet: -Mention of Crimea (border change through a referendum) but not e.g. Kosovo (border change through NATO overlordship); -Linking of Putin w/ Stalin; -Russian “dezinformatsiia” is from e.g. French “désinformation”https://twitter.com/disinfoportal/status/1004342917383802880 …

Crimea has held referenda since 1991 with similar results. Going to blame Russian troops, too? (Those, by the way, were there legally, and Crimea is majority-Russian.) https://twitter.com/galismartin/status/1005459198413504512?s=21 …

Totally agreed. The people in Crimea voted with Russia, and they are mostly Russian in that area!

America has become the consummate Orwellian dystopia, complete with Thought Police, thoughtcrime, the Ministry of Truth, Joy Camps, etc. We even give Nobel Peace Prizes to blatant warmongers because of the party slogan "War is Peace."

Crimean referendum took place after Russian troops aka. tourists took over Crimea. What result would you expect?

After NATO took over "Kosovo" they didn't even bother to organize a referendum. Crimean referendum was internationally monitored.

I agree on Kosovo. But that is another issue. With Crimea, it was taken by Russia before the people has spoken. So lets be objective and condemn both actions.

Do you really doubt the results of the referendum? It's not the first time that they voted for independence. Now the legality of secession is a completely different matter.

Yes, I doubt it. If you organize a ballot in war like atmosphere, the results may be affected by that. It should have happened before the annexation

So the "annexation" happened before the referendum?

In reality no. If there were no Russian troops in Crimea it would have been overrun by the same people who took over the government in Ukraine and I'm sure they would not allow any kind on vote to take place.

Borrowings from West European languages have that "uncanny valley" air of being almost comprehensible. "But there must be some Russian twist to it, something hideous & cruel."

Scaremongering bores. Anyway, was looking for an awesome piece of "propaganda" 😁 yesterday, but can't find it for the life of me. 1/ A music video made for the May 9 celebrations, 2015 or 2016. A victorious Soviet hero (take that, Disinfo Portal😂) comes back home in 1945.

2/ As he climbs up to the different floors, the Soviet and post-Soviet decades go by on each: from the post-WW2 renewal, through the hellish 1990s, to the present day, where an old veteran opens the door. Do you remember the title by any chance?
