do you mind explaining this to me? isn't the conclusion the same? or do you just say that the display of the fit is more convincing when shown in log scale? - (i would be happy to be told this is all a dataviz mistake, but it looks pretty serious, no?)

Nothing complex here. From presentations of my students, this looks to me like the basic kind of linear regression + confidence intervals that you can do in R. The regression was done in log-scale and in the log-plot the fit is really intuitive. But not at all in linear scale.
