Even if ur not rich. No server can live on $4/hr. And if u can’t tip, tell ur server ahead of time. Just say “I’m limited on funds so I’m not going to be able to tip much.” Sounds counterintuitive, but I guarantee u that in most cases it will be the best service u ever had.

I agree but I have to say rich bc people justify not tipping 20% Bc they can’t afford it, to which I would say then you can’t do those things which require a tip but then it’s like OK SO JUST BC IM NOT RICH I CANT GO OUT TO EAT and then I go No You can’t. And then I’m elitist etc

I did delivery and Lyft in LA. My best tips were from people who didn't necessarily have the most to give. No celeb or rich person ever tipped, but the old ladies who lived in one room apartments in rough parts of town were always quick to try and give as much as they could

Pretty sure I saw some research that showed that poor people are more charitable than rich. It’s becuase they understand the struggle.

We have to make up for these 10%ers. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE. I really had no idea til I asked servers. I used to wait tables and I don’t remember it being this bad

OR, instead of blaming consumers, we should hold businesses accountable for paying servers more than $3 an hour. It's easy to get distracted by tippers when the true evil are these billion dollar corporations acting like they can't afford $15 an hour.
