    Tonight we learned: SAGE asked for an immediate 2 week circuit break lockdown 3 weeks ago but Sunak vetoed it. They declared Test and Trace was having a "marginal impact on transmission" which would worsen without radical change. Chris Whitty thinks Tier 3 measures will fail.

    Always amused when a person presenting a show or reporting on the Western Balkans doesn’t know how to pronounce the “ić” ending of surnames. How am I supposed to take you seriously as an expert on this region when you don’t even know the most basic cultural norms?

    Seeing grown adults (probably with kids themselves) camped out in the mentions of a police force to misgender a trans child who‘s missing makes me worry about what the internet is doing to people. It seems to be making people very unwell, consumed by hatred and spite.

    I get the “how can you celebrate pride - isn’t pride a sin” question from so many non-affirming Christians grappling with their views. While we don’t owe them to explain, there is a simple response: There is pride as the opposite of humility, and pride as the opposite of shame.

    Substitute "gay rights" for "trans rights" and you'll read a sentence which could have been said in the 1980s. Gay people didn't want to be the centre of debate back then either. It was their opponents who decided otherwise. Starmer's team lack understanding of minority rights.
