I'm sorry, Shana. The Dota scene has never been a safe space for women. I still miss it all the time, but not the harassment, and certainly not the assumption that we were all only there for the male players to objectify. Thank you for sharing your story

I appreciate this more than you might know. It took 7 years for me to ever write down what happened at my first event, but it was time.

This makes me sad. Dota and TI should be a space where everyone that loves the game should feel welcome and safe and have fun but that has rarely been the case. Thank you for sharing.

Of course, it needed to come out eventually I let it fester for a long time wondering what I did to warrant that kind of attention. I also hope that it helps people examine things a bit, you don't have to be the traditionally desired person to have experiences like this.

It was time to let it all out, and I am glad I had some people to listen and help me realize I shouldn't trivialize this anymore.
