Please don’t release lanterns. I support the NHS but the damage to wildlife is not the way to show our appreciation.

Not to mention a fire risk too! Remember Smethwick?? ..and the very recent fire at the German Zoo which claimed the lives of over 30 animals??!

How many fires can this cause? How much livestock can be lost? Totally irresponsible.

Oh for goodness sake, tell me who has thought of this totally senseless idea. I wonder if you've stopped to think about the dangers to property and to livestock. Fields full of lambs and calves, they're inquisitive and could swallow any remnants from these darn lanterns
