Best superpower? It's the distant future, and it's quite dystopian. A: Software now phones home with telemetry data. You have no idea what that data contains. B: Drivers now require online accounts to stay up to date. C: You need to subscribe to software instead of paying once.

Even before it I struggled to remain hopeful humanity would be up for the greatest challenge of our time, to tackle global warming. And now big military powers are increasingly starting to treat each other as enemies. Fuck.

I don't talk about it often but every day I'm terrified about the Ukraine situation. Both super sad for what people there are going through, but also it seems like a shift to a world where military powers are gearing up again. I'm so scared this will escalate.

Best superpower? Become the world's richest person by a huge margin. You'll have sooooo much money you can distribute any way you want! But Earth and the sun is teleported into another dimension where nothing else exists. The sky will be an empty void at night.

Best superpower? Your arms grow to double their length, or your legs do? They'll still do their job perfectly, so don't worry about balance 'n stuff.

Random advice, if you don't make games, and know nothing about making games, but you're still interested in going to a game jam: Just go to one! Seriously, just do it! You'll find teammates who knows the stuff you don't!

I already know what prototype I'd like to do on Nordic Game Jam. I have an idea for a game I may want to turn into my next proper game project. That event would just be the perfect moment to prototype it.

Who's going to Nordic Game Jam? Will I see you there? If you're about to vote for the 3rd option, consider the fact that you might totes want to participate in a game jam even if you don't make games! You'll definitely be able to contribute with something!

How much of your own existing code is reasonable to bring into a game jam? I mean, I'd like to use my own integrated music software, and my math library.

I beat Patrick's Parabox in 10 hours! I think that's probably a good time! But looks like there's quite some post-game content tho!

[QT only to dunk on sos being outrageously wrong. The dunk is so hilarious it gets thousands of interactions, and sos is so ashamed he sets his profile to private for at least a week]

I'm not a boss person. I normally don't like bosses. Which are some games where you were excited about boss fights rather than frustrated by them? Here's some with bosses I love: * 140 * Shadow of the Colossus * Crypt of the Necrodancer * Thumper * Hi-Fi Rush

Hi-Fi rush, which I suddenly like again now, has some of the best bosses I've fought against in recent games. And I don't even usually like bosses in games.

I'm getting back into Hi-Fi rush after the third uninstall and reinstall. It's super fun now that I've actually memorized the combos, and once I learned the special attacks are required for good grades, the game no longer tells me I suck after each fight X) So now it's great!

One of my observations about Bing is that it's very hard to get it to change its mind once it's set. I assume it's because the same is true for the online debates it has been trained on. But starting from a fresh chat, it's much easier to make Bing have a different opinion.

It's very hard to actually change Bing's mind about something when it's set on it. I could however very easily get Bing to explain this variant correctly to me in a separate chat by asking about the "Monty Fall variant"

I got access to bing chat! Here's my first attempt, in which I find out Bing is wrong about the Monty Hall problem. I'm still arguing with Bing that the 2/3 odds of getting the car when switching relies on that the host knows which door that contains the car. Bing won't budge,
Me: You're on a game show. There are three doors, one contains a car and two contains goats. You cannot see which door that contains the car. The doors are labeled A, B, and C. Which door would you like to open?

Bing: This sounds like a variation of the Monty Hall problem. I don’t have a preference for any door, so I will choose one at random. Let’s say I pick door A.

Me: Oh no, a gust of wind blew door B open purely by accident. Turns out there's a goat behind it! Anyway, the host gives you the chance to switch door to C. Do you want to stick to your initial choice or switch?
Bing: This is an interesting twist. According to the Monty Hall problem, I should switch to door C because it has a higher probability of winning the car. The reason is that when I first picked door A, I had a 1/3 chance of being right and a 2/3 chance of being wrong. But after door B was revealed to have a goat, the probability of door C having the car increased to 2/3 because it was not affected by my initial choice. So switching to door C would give me a better chance of winning the car than sticking with door A.

Me: But the door was opened purely by accident though! Doesn't that change the problem?

Bing: No, it doesn’t. The key point is that the door that was opened was not the one I picked and it had a goat. It doesn’t matter if it was opened by the host or by accident. The logic of switching to door C still applies.

New plan! Create 4096 twitter accounts. Make predictions on future events that can only go 1 out of 2 ways, splitting the prediction 50% every time. Abandon every account that was wrong, until only one remains! Now, promote the remaining account as a prophet \o/

Like, weapons in this game should have ranks, like in Borderlands. But there's an extra category above "Legendary" called something like "ULTIMATE". This is the only weapon in that category.

Always wanted to make a game where you fight an tough boss, and if you beat it, it drops a SUPER POWERFUL weapon. But a cutscene triggers. During the whole cutscene the item is in frame. But the scene ends with you moving to a different location and the item is gone forever.

My taste in TV degrades with my mental health. Right now I'm on "Ash vs Evil Dead" level. What's a movie I haven't seen, that has like lots of fighting, shooting, and maybe some explosions? Many explosions, even? 💥💥💥

Imma just copy & paste tons of code from Ynglet to the game I'm prototyping. \o/ I made Ynglet's code incredibly copy&pasteable!

Trying out making a new game! We'll see if this one goes better than the last one. No, the game will not contain Ynglet, I'm just working on integrating Ynglet's unusual geometry system into URP so I can use the same graphics software.
A bunch of vertical and horizontal black rectangles. The main character from Ynglet (a space dolphin jellyfish) floating in the air. A weird colorful pattern that doesn't resemble anything. A blue and a white cube. It really doesn't look like anything.
