“There is general social agreement that discrimination on the basis of gender, sexuality or race is wrong – and that increasing diversity along these lines is good. Ideological diversity? Not so much.” http://quillette.com/2018/04/05/social-research-fields-conservatives-underrepresented-group/ … via @QuilletteM

A supreme irony: Those who criticize the assumption that gender inequality must be caused by unfair oppression have done the same for ideology, failing to consider e.g. that conservatives may simply be less likely to enter academia due e.g. to personality, genetics, etc.

"Liberals consistently score higher on a personality measure called 'openness to experience'" [1] which measures "preference for variety and intellectual curiosity" [2] and is 61% heritable [3]. 1. http://washingtonpost.com/opinions/liberals-and-conservatives-dont-just-vote-differently-they-think-differently/2012/04/12/gIQAzb1kDT_story.html … 2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Openness_to_experience … 3. http://ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/8776880 …

Have you considered the possibility that conservatives' inhereted low intellectual curiosity makes them less likely to enter social science particularly, and/or academic research generally? Or are you simply assuming that inequality of outcome must be a sign of oppression?

See sections 5.3 and 5.4 of Haidt et al here No one is 'assuming inequality of outcome is or must be a sign of oppression'.
