On a EP criticism note, I had a student tell me her bio prof told her class that ‘bio and psych are as unrelated as are bio and religion’. According to this prof, psych isn’t even a scientific discipline.

I just consider psychology a branch of biology. It's a weird definition of science some of these people are working with. I really think it is this "if you can't solve the problem with a test tube and a fire, then it's not science" attitude....

This is what I show my students. This “map of science” was generated by examining the connections among fields, as represented in citations of published papers from 2000 to 2005. Psychology was one of seven “hub sciences” that strongly influenced work done in other fields.pic.twitter.com/TnUwMI2udJ
