wild apes and captive monkey males and females prefer typically masculine and feminine human toys, respectively, which “suggests that there is something biologically different about the sexes that makes them gravitate to different types of toys"http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2010/09/101220-chimpanzees-play-nature-nurture-science-animals-evolution/ …

Very interesting. You would wonder why no one had thought of doing this experiment before.

It has been done before in captive primates. First in wild primates I believe.

It is a few years old, but I believe the first of this type of study to be done on wild, not captive, primates

Fair and correct on point 1–I was just making a summary statement. Re: point 2–as far as I know, masc/fem are operationalized as typical in the western market (trucks, dolls, respectively)

I'd thought difference was between play as representing a baby and play as object manipulation. Modelling of nurture or exercising spatial awareness.

You are not allowed to say there are differences between the sexes unless of course it puts down men in some way. The rules are very complicated but I think I finally have more or less the hang of it.

Actually it just proves that monkeys are sexist and have created a culture of divisiveness through unnatural gender roles. Or something like that 😂😂.
