I tend to also be wary of studies who don't control for genetic confounding too, but in this case, as i understand from reading that article, parental infidelity leads to more cheating/favorable cheating attitudes only among those whose parents openly communicated their cheating.

So how come there would be a gentic confounding? If the children of those who are secretive about their indescrition are not more accepting of cheating (and assuming they don't practice it either: article doesn't specify) then social learning theory is right on this one...

Potential heritability of sexual strategies/sociosexuality. Parents with genetic predisposition for lesser commitment/prone to infidelity also pass on those genes to their offspring. Not saying acceptance/attitudes may not also play a role, but it surely isn’t all social learning
